Welcome!
This is the internet home of the Honeoye FIRST Lego Leauge (Honeoye FLL) Team #318.
This information page provides resources for parents interested in the Honeoye-based all-girl’s FIRST Lego League team currently being formed.
My name is Brian Boorman, and I am a Principle Electrical Engineer with Harris RF Communications in Rochester. Harris is a long-time supporter of the FIRST program, and each year sponsors the Penfield High School Robotics Team. My daughters (Kristen and Heather) attend Honeoye Central School. This is a way to foster the spirit of science and technology in them, as well as others.
This team is just in the process of getting started. Please see the Home page for current information on what help is desired.
This will be an “All-Girl’s” Team (coaches/mentors excluded). Kids aged 9-14 are allowed to participate in FLL, however this team will be composed of kids that will be entering the 4th grade this fall.
Please use the buttons to the left to find out more about FIRST and FIRST Lego League. Note that most of these redirect to the US FIRST website. Use the Contact button to send me an email.
This year’s (2009) theme is “Smart Move - Transforming Transportation”. Can FIRST LEGO League teams transform the way we look at transportation? The key to the 2009 “Smart Move” Challenge is accessing people, places, goods and services in the safest, most efficient way possible. In this journey, teams will consider many modes of transportation beyond their daily routine and streamline their options by making smart moves!
